I wish I knew God was there all along

This is an old piece dated back almost two years ago. Reading it definitely gave me a few perspectives on life. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Hello again, thank you for taking the time to come and read this week’s blog by yours truly. I appreciate you, and I hope these words help you navigate along the way in your journey.

I was listening to this song, and I stumbled upon this young lady’s comment, and her words inspired me to write this post. Oftentimes throughout our lives we go through so many horrible things and we begin to question whether or not God is present. But the word of God says this: “Be strong and courageous. DO NOT be afraid or terrified because of Them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will NEVER leave you or forsake you”(Deuteronomy 31:6).

Though this verse speaks to my soul in more ways than ever, I was not thinking of that as I was going through my trials. And I think a lot of people can relate to the statement above, because it is easy to read these words and remind someone who is experiencing hard times that God is present. But the real question is, can you believe these words for yourself as you go through hard times?

I went through LOSING my father at 17 years of age, and going through what seemed like one of the toughest moments of my life, yet the whole time I thought God was not present.

“I wish I knew God was there all along”, maybe then I would have looked at my situation differently, maybe then I would not have cried so much for such a long period of time. Honestly, a lot of these different scenarios were playing in my mind, but not once did I stop to think that He(God) was present the whole time. Truth be told, if God had not been there, I would not have been the woman that I am today. I would not have the strength that I do now to stand tall through trials and tribulations.

As I think and write these words, it reminds me that nothing I go through is too big for God. And since He is a big God and has the WHOLE world in his hands, nothing in your life is too big for him.
